On October 20, UC Berkeley celebrated Professor Gordon Rausser’s gift to the College of Natural Resources (CNR), now be named after him. The gift reflects a growing pattern where skills accumulated from academic research often provide the foundation for launching entrepreneurial enterprises that can subsequently enrich academic research instruction as well as contribute to the well-being of the university. From October 24, 2019 to October 27, 2019, a four-day Festschrift was held in honor of Rausser, and from the many presentations, a few of the papers were selected to appear in the forthcoming book, Modern Agricultural and Resource Economics and Policy: Essays in Honor of Gordon C. Rausser.
